Quarter-Turn Cam Latch in Zinc Alloy — 6 mm Hex Drive
A compact quarter-turn cam latch in zinc alloy, driven by a standard 6 mm hex wrench. With a Ø24.5 mm low-profile head, an 18 mm threaded body and a 30 mm cam reach, it secures enclosure doors, control panels and equipment housings in a single 90° turn — no keyhole to align, nothing left rattling.
Why this cam latch
- 90° quarter-turn action. One short movement opens and closes the panel — fewer steps at every service stop on equipment that gets opened daily.
- 6 mm hex drive. Opened with an ordinary Allen key instead of a generic square key, so the latch is not the easiest thing on the machine to tamper with.
- Low-profile Ø24.5 mm head, 5 mm thick. Sits close to the panel face and stays clear of sliding, stacked and gasketed doors.
- 30 mm cam reach, 14 mm wide, 3 mm thick. Engages deeper frames and offset strike points that shorter cams cannot reach.
- 18 mm threaded body with mounting nut. Single-hole panel mount — installed from the front, locked down from the back.
- 21 mm total depth behind the flange. Fits tight enclosures without fouling wiring, DIN rail or internal components.
- Zinc alloy cam. Holds its profile under repeated cycling in industrial service.
- Bulk and OEM supply. Volume pricing, finishes and packaging quoted to your production requirement.
Most panel hardware asks for two hands and a key. This one asks for a quarter turn.
Seat the 6 mm hex wrench in the socket, rotate 90°, and the 30 mm cam swings clear of the frame — the door is open. Reverse the motion and it pulls shut.
The dimensions are deliberately compact. A Ø24.5 mm head that stands 5 mm off the panel face, an 18 mm threaded body, and 21 mm of total depth behind the flange keep the latch out of the way of internal wiring and stacked components, and let it drop into narrow frames where a full-size cam lock will not fit.
The cam plate is 3 mm thick, 14 mm wide, and reaches 30 mm from the axis — enough engagement for deeper frames and offset strike points, with the flat cam profile engaging cleanly cycle after cycle.
Installed through a single panel hole and secured from the back by the mounting nut, it is a clean fit for control cabinets, distribution panels, equipment housings and machine guards. For production volumes, finishes and packing are quoted against your specification.
Ideal for
- Control cabinets and electrical distribution panels
- Equipment housings and machine guards
- Server, network and instrument racks
- Kiosk, vending and HVAC access panels
- Tool boxes, industrial furniture and vehicle compartments
